If you could re-visit any year in your lifetime, what year would it be and why?

He seems “alive,” positively vivid. I am trying to become more like that because life is about living. He is in love. I find it interesting that his fiancée is African American, because my girlfriend and I are the reverse (I am black and she is white) and relationships like those are unique and special.

And as a side note he’s handsome, and I think we have almost the same eyeglasses.

He has been fighting a long time, and he carries on fighting…

Words can’t describe how caring this person is, or how much that means to me. I had no idea how much she worried about me while I was gone. I worried about you too, Anna. I was really afraid you thought I’d given up.

But nope! I held on, with you in mind, too. I’m gonna keep trying to work through life’s problems, I’m not going to give up. I love you and I want you to know that even though I’ve never met you, your love and concern means the world to me, it really does. It means the world to me, and words cant begin to describe how much I cherish that care.

Anna is a great person with a big heart. The world could use more people like her.

Sometimes I think of random hypothetical situations, like, if I were blind (God forbid), I would ALWAYS wear sunglasses.

Even though my favorite seasons are fall and winter, my least favorite holidays are halloween, and Christmas.

Each halloween, I can never decide what to be, and my Mother, who is a total stick-in-the-mud/ party pooper, is almost always guarenteed to frown upon a costume I wear in public, and she’ll bring it up for years. So, I basically hate halloween. Besides that, some of the “decorations” that go out around halloween at the mall or whatever really freak me out. The only thing I like about Halloween is making Jack-O-Lanterns. I really like that… and it doesn’t bother my mom.

I hate how on Christmas my family, which I generally dislike, suddenly feels the need to pull together simply for the sake of the holiday. Christmas has to be the worst holiday of the year besides Valentines day, only because I HATE feeling PRESSURED to spend my hard-earned cash on everyone but me… And then when my family members get what I bought them, they never use it anyway. I’d hate to seem like an Ebineezer Scrooge, but I truly dislike the consumerism surrounding Christmas. I don’t even like getting gifts, because the gifts I would expect usually aren’t going to be that elaborate anyway. It’s not like my graceious parents would buy me a car… Besides that, half the stuf I actually DO get, would be something completely random that I didn’t even want. I seriously don’t want to spend more than $25 this Christmas.

Oddly enough, my favorite holiday has always been Easter, but I’m thinking about changing that to something else… Maybe this year I’ll find a holiday I like better. The problem is, like so many things, each holiday has good things and bad things. I wonder what my favorite holiday really is.

It’s very difficult for me to make decisions, especially if there is money involved. This summer I got my first job, and since then, I’ve had a decent amount of money building in my savings. The problem is, when I want to spend it, I have no idea what to get or how to spend it. I’m pretty much terrified of spending any amount of money because I finally know how hard people have to work to get their hands on some.

Another thing I just realized is that I’m probibily clueless as to what I want to buy because the greatest things in life are free. I’d like to have companionship. I’d love to fall in love, and I’d love to stop cutting and to have a great self esteem. Basically what I want most is all the goals on my list here at 43 things, and I just realized that each one of them lacks a price tag.
